Status Report: MMBNT's New Building

Status Report: MMBNT's New Building

Thursday, 5/31/2018

Not long ago, this spot in southwest Fort Worth was home to an empty office building and a plot of land. Just six months later, it’s starting to look like the new home of Mothers’ Milk Bank of North Texas.

After years of growth and operating beyond capacity in the current building, the MMBNT staff is thrilled to move into a new space. The existing office building on the property will become the milk bank’s administrative wing. Interior renovations are underway, creating private offices, a conference room and a community education room.

On the other end, construction crews are building the milk processing wing from the ground up. There have been many exciting additions to the site recently, such as the building’s foundation and steel frame. The crew will start working on the building’s exterior next week.

MMBNT’s new facility will allow the milk bank to continue growing and serve more babies than ever before. It’s been a dream for many years, but is now becoming a reality thanks to generous support from foundations, corporations, organizations and individuals who have donated to our capital campaign, More Room for More Miracles: The Campaign for Healthy Babies.

To date, the campaign is 95 percent funded. While the campaign is very close to achieving its goal, MMBNT still needs help from the community. To learn how you can make a difference in this exciting new chapter of the milk bank’s story, click here.
