Capital Campaign and Construction Update

Capital Campaign and Construction Update

Wednesday, 10/17/2018

It’s been one year since the public announcement of Mothers’ Milk Bank of North Texas’ capital campaign, More Room for More Miracles: The Campaign for Healthy Babies. Since then, numerous local organizations, foundations and individuals have generously contributed to MMBNT’s campaign, and crews have been hard at work building the milk bank’s new home.

Things are picking up at the construction site, with the completion of the project getting closer and closer. Tape and bedding started this week, and painting will follow. Ceramic tile and exterior glass will arrive at the site soon. Once the glass arrives, the exterior windows and doors will go in.

While the structure of the administrative space already existed, the lab is a completely new wing of the building. It has truly transformed, as all the walls are up and the frame for the ceiling was recently installed.

Crews expect to start millwork soon as well. This step of the process includes the installation of the front reception desk and countertops throughout the building. MMBNT directors have been working alongside the construction team, making design decisions and preparing for the upcoming move.

This new facility will allow MMBNT to continue growing, expand its reach and establish a firm foundation for the future. To learn how you can be a part of the campaign, click here.
