A note for their little angel.
10/25/2024
As part of our bereaved donor program, we have a scrapbook next to Carmen’s Trees filled with memories and photos of little lives lost but never forgotten. #MMBNTdonor Travishia recently added her little one, Tahvia’s page to this book, along with her story, photos, and a note for their little angel. We’re honored to share it here today:
“Tahvia was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease: single ventricle, tricuspid valve w/upper moderate regurgitation, when I was 20 weeks pregnant with her. Essentially, her left ventricle did not fully develop in utero, and she had a leaky valve. In order to “correct” her very special heart to function for her anatomy, she would have to have three surgeries; one at 5 days old, one around 4-5 months, and one at 3 or 4 years of age. Even though she was thriving and surpassed all of her milestones after the first procedure, we knew and understood that each procedure was necessary. After having her second open heart surgery on June 12, 2024, her little body physically declined daily until her last breath here on Earth. We are grateful that the two weeks in between June 12th and June 26th, she did not experience any pain or discomfort, but was surrounded by so much love as she had been her entire time here on Earth.
Tahvia brought so much light and love to all who knew her-whether in person, through pictures, videos or stories we tell. We love and miss our girl so much! We will always honor her and share the love and joy that she brought us with everyone that we come in contact with.
With so much love,
Mommy, Daddy, and Big Brother
