Behind the Scenes: MMBNT's Board of Directors

A strong organizational structure is vitally important for nonprofits like Mothers’ Milk Bank of North Texas. The heart of this framework lies with a dynamic board of directors who have a passion for the organization’s mission and are willing to volunteer their time to lead and govern for a specified term.

The milk bank was established as a 501(c)3 in 2004 and has relied on its board for oversight ever since. This essential group of community volunteers has evolved over time, with many members returning for repeat terms of service.

Today’s board consists of 17 members who come from various backgrounds and professions to advocate for the safe provision of donor human milk for fragile infants. They meet bimonthly to review financial statements, vote on important decisions, support fundraising efforts and assist with long-term strategic planning.

This group has been particularly involved over the past two years during the More Room for More Miracles capital campaign and will be on board during the organization’s imminent relocation to a much larger facility in southwest Fort Worth. Their encouragement and contributions have proven invaluable and are immensely appreciated.
