Meet Salvadora Estrada - Lab Inventory Tech
Salvadora joined the Mothers’ Milk Bank of North Texas staff in February 2014, working as a Laboratory Inventory Tech, and also screening Spanish-speaking donor mom applicants. As the Inventory Tech, Salvadora logs in each shipment of donor milk shipped directly to the Milk Bank or picked up at one of the DFW-area depots by the Milk Bank’s van. She also ships the orders the Milk Banks delivers to hospitals.
“I love organizations that help little children. By working at the Milk Bank, I feel like I have a purpose and that every day I come into work, I’m making a difference in a family’s life,” Salvaldora shares.
When she’s not at work, Salvadora can be found running her kids to soccer and baseball practices and games, or spending her own time running, getting ready for her next 5K!
Salvadora in her own words….
I am married, have four wonderful kids – three boys and one girl.
I wonder how much college for four kids is going to be to cost us.
I think breastfeeding is the best way!
I hear giggling and laughing coming down stairs.
I see my kids growing up way to fast.
I want to take a vacation twice a year with my family.
I am glad to be where I am at this point in my life.
I pretend that one day I will have a chef to cook all my meals for me.
I feel happy when my family gets together on the weekends, just to hang out.
I wonder why mothers are always the first ones up and the last ones to go to sleep? Oh yeah, because we are mothers!
I enjoy running on a beautiful day.
I worry that a dog will jump out at me on one of my runs.
I cry every time when I see the movie Instructions not Included.
I am a good listener when people need me to be.
I understand that everyone is different.
I say “shake it off” when the kids fall down.
I dream of one day running a (full) marathon.
I try to stay focused on reaching my goals.
I hope one day my husband and I get to travel to Europe.
I think babies are precious gifts from God.
