Mothers' Milk Bank of North Texas Shares Breastfeeding Advice in "Expecting Parents" News Web Campaign

Campaign Cover Photo halfThis past weekend, Mothers' Milk Bank of North Texas (MMBNT) participated in the Expecting Parents digital web campaign published by Mediaplanet and USA Today.  Industry advocates, leaders and professionals, including MMBNT's Executive Director, Amy Vickers, came together to provide the most recent information and resources available to those trying to conceive, currently expecting, or those having just become new parents.  The web campaign aims to celebrate the joys of new life while raising awareness about the issues facing newly appointed parents today.

 A wide range of topics include the pros and cons of cord blood banking, staying healthy during pregnancy, facts about group B strep and prenatal screening for birth defects.  On a lighter note, expecting moms can get tips about maternity wardrobe must-haves and essential baby registry items.  Celebrities such as Molly Sims, Stacy Keibler and Denise Richards all weigh in about their own parenting experiences.

Amy Vickers, MMBNT's executive director and  certified lactation consultant, contributed an editorial entitled "Breastfeeding 101: Basics, Benefits and Bumps in the Road".  The article outlines practical advice about starting breastfeeding on the right foot, why breastmilk is beneficial to both mom and baby, and how moms can stay supported and informed.
